Taiji College

In various Italian, European and US cities, selections for practitioners who are applying for the ITKA College are taking place from January 2012.

This initiative aims at the creation of a high level study group in the practice of Taijiquan. The selection has to assess the candidate’s potential in terms of practice and psychophysical features, which are elements required in order to approach these studies with a high level of performance. Once they have been selected, candidates are admitted to stay and study at our school in the way we will expose below.

The candidate ITKA Taiji College students must be able to practice sporting activities and must also have the legal suitability to be domiciled in Italy. Moreover, ITKA, the sporting institutions and the local or regional authorities provide some grants for worthy students.

Three residence solutions:

Permanence at school for a minimum of 90 days per year for 5 years.

The students take classes at the ITKA Headquarters for 90 days, guided by the Technical Director M. Gianfranco Pace aided by the Technical Commissioners M. Giovambattista Scavo and M. Margherita Padalino.

The students will have the opportunity to choose their staying periods (8 to 30 days each time) at school throughout a year, for a total number of no less than 90 days.

During the same year, the students will engage in practicing the programs they study each time at our school, independently or supported by their ITKA schools.

Every year we plan an assessment in order to enter to the next academic year.

Daily lessons will last about 6 or 7 ours, and technical programs will be structured according to the student’s preparation and previous experiences.

At the end of these five years, the students who will pass the final exams will obtain the certificate of teacher. According to their preparation, this qualification certificate can be either second or third Couch, or first or second Instructor. These diplomas will have ITKA, CSEN – CONI, and European and international acknowledgements.

B) Permanence for a minimum 45/50 days per year for 7 years.

Ratio is similar to the previous one, but this formula gives people who cannot attend our school for work and/or personal reasons, the opportunity to attend our school for a total number of 90 days, to have a high technical level, programmatic and professional training.

C) Permanence at school all year long for 3 or 5 years.

In order to complete the whole course, five years of study are required. During this time students deal with the orthodox program of the Chen style Taijiquan.

The minor or academic residing students will be followed in all they may need (studies, nutrition, etc.) and they will be provided with a logistic support in organising their studies in Schools/Universities/Institutes of specialisation near our school, or with certified courses organised inside our school (such as tuina, shiatsu, acupressure, acupuncture courses, etc.).

Daily lessons will last about 4 hours and the technical programs will be structured according to the number of years chosen for training (3 to 5).

The school has a summer break of 20 days. Moreover, the students can have a free weekend every month and they will be given upon request a longer time to pass with their family two times during the same year.
